In-Home Cooking Lessons

Hands-on cooking lessons can be held at your place or at Barbara's eighteenth century Tuscan house. The ancient building was a pottery factory dated about 1700, where ceramics were produced for many years. The building has been recently restored maintaining the Tuscan style and converted into independent apartments.

Lessons are held in the large kitchen perfectly organized, that can welcome up to 10/12 guests. The home grown vegetable garden gives most of the ingredients to prepare the famous bread soup (Ribollita), tomato soup (Pappa al Pomodoro) and other dishes in the florentine tradition.

She will take care of everything needed and each partecipant will do his part preparing memorable dishes to the Tuscan tradition!Lessons start from 10 am lasting 3/4 hours preparing a three courses meal that will be tasted at the end! Afternoon hours are also available.

Menu vary according to the season and your wishes and Barbara will use only the freshest ingredients available on the market. A sample menu:

  • Ravioli fiorentini (home-made ravioli with butter and sage sauce);
  • Chicken cacciatora style (stuffed chicken with tomato and olives);
  • Cantucci di Prato (biscuits with almonds)

Children and people with special dietary needs are most welcomed.
